Taft celebrates upcoming holiday with annual Balloons Over Broadway Parade

Second-grade students at Taft Elementary School proudly waved their decorated balloons in the air as they walked through the hallways.
The Balloons Over Broadway Parade is an annual tradition at Taft, transforming their school into their own Thanksgiving Parade.
The parade is inspired by the book Balloons Over Broadway: The Inspiring True Story of the Puppeteer of Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Students decorated the halls with buildings that they drew themselves inspired by the scenes of New York City and Principal Christine Williams led the parade.
